2010
Dear Parents and Third Grade Friends,
Welcome to Third Grade! School
begins on Tuesday, September 7, 2010. However, our Open House will be
held on Wednesday, September 1st from 5:30-6:30. Our classroom is on
the second floor and it is room 206. I have kept the name "Third Grade
Friends". Many of you know we work every month on character education
traits so I thought that already thinking about our new classmates as
friends would
be a nice way to greet each other.
The school doors open at 8:30 and our
day starts at 8:50. Lunch money needs to be brought on the first day
of each week. If you bring your lunchbox, please have your name inside
it. If your child will be buying breakfast it will be $1.00, the whole
lunch it will be $1.75 per day and just milk will be $.50.
We will have a Six Day Schedule once it
is completed and I will insert it into the columns at the bottom left of the
webpage. Please try to bring your art smock and wear your sneakers as
we could have either or both of those specials on the first day of school.
Just in case you aren't sure, an art smock is any old t-shirt, or an actual
art smock will do as long as it covers your school clothes from paints and
other fun art things. We will be having lockers down the hall by the
Girls Room on our hall. Please do not bring any type of lock as they
are not permitted on the lockers. The backpacks on wheels don't fit
into the lockers either.
Our list of school supplies is below.
I have already purchased the spiral notebooks we will be using, so you won't
need any other notebooks or loose leaf paper. We won't need any three
ring binders either.
-
1
backpack or book bag
-
1
package of #2 pencils (Please no mechanical pencils.)
-
1 glue stick
-
1 box of Kleenex
- (Please put your name on the bottom of the box.)
-
1 roll of paper
towels
-
1 box of crayons
(24 is plenty!)
-
1
centimeter/inch ruler
-
1 fun pocket
folder (This is to take papers home.)
-
1 pair of
sneakers for every day we have gym class
-
1 old t-shirt or
art smock for art class
-
1 pencil box or
zippered plastic case for your supplies
-
1 water bottle
with your name on it! (A 20 oz. one is plenty!)
-
Please come with
a smile on your face to start the day off right!
This will begin my 33rd year as a
classroom teacher here at Guardino Elementary School. My husband and I
live in the village with one dog and two cats. We enjoy the river,
reading, cooking and gardening.
Hopefully you are finding ways to have
fun this summer and are enjoying yourself with your family and friends!
