Physical Education Program

Primary Grades K-2
Students will engage in locomotor as well as non-locomotor and manipulative activities. They will also have numerous opportunities to move safely and efficiently through space. The year culminates with the Primary Fun & Fitness Day where all students participate in track and field events as well as other more non-traditional activities.
Intermediate Grades 3-5
Students will engage in fitness training, football, soccer, mapping, equipment, floor hockey, volleyball, circuits, cross country skiing, recreational games, extensions, dance, basketball, tumbling, physical challenges, project adventure, juggling, step aerobic games, swimming (grades 4 & 5 only), baseball/softball, fitness testing and Olympic training. The year culminates with the Olympics where students in both the Guardino and Cape Vincent Elementary schools compete for ribbons in numerous events. The location of these games rotates between the Guardino and Cape Vincent facilities on an annual basis.
