Clubs and Groups
Students can choose from a variety of special interest clubs. Students can receive information from the office, the daily announcements, or the school newspaper. Students should feel free to seek out information from organization members or adult advisors. Many clubs hold open memberships and welcome students who develop interest in the activity at any time in the school year.

The Art Club is a creative space welcoming students of all skill levels who share a passion for visual arts. It provides a relaxed environment where members can explore diverse mediums, collaborate on unique projects, express their personal artistic style, and contribute to vibrant school or community art initiatives. Whether you are looking to refine your techniques or just want a fun place to create alongside peers, all are welcome!

The Thousand Islands Booster Club supports all student extra-curricular activities. Money is raised to support the full range of student activities: Athletics, Music and the Arts, Robotics and numerous other student interest groups and clubs. The booster club organizes the staffing of all concession stands at home football and basketball games, which can be sponsored by a student team or group as a fundraising option for the group.

A Rotary sponsored service club for 9th-12th graders. The club was started in the middle of the 2012-2013 school year and already has several service projects under it's belt. This year it plans on sponsoring a Shelterbox through Rotary but is also planning several smaller projects throughout the year. Focuses on offering experience to young people that will result in their finding joy and excitement in the creative art of music.

All students in grades 6-12 have the opportunity to audition for the annual spring musical. Rehearsals are Jan-March with the final production towards the end of March. Students involved in the musical will attend all scheduled rehearsals, help with sets and costumes as well as sing, dance and act.

National Honor Society is composed of students in grades 10,11 and 12, who are outstanding in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. To be eligible for membership, a student must have an average of at least 90%. The final selection is made by the faculty, who judge each candidate on the basis of leadership, character and service.

National Junior Honor Society is composed of students in grades 7 and 8, who are outstanding in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. To be eligible for membership, a student must have an unadjusted cumulative GPA of 92%. The final selection is made by the faculty who judge each candidate on the basis of leadership. character and service.

The One Act Play Club is the perfect stage for students interested in theater, storytelling, and performance without the massive time commitment of a full-length production. Members focus on bringing short, powerful, single-act plays to life.
Whether you want to step into the spotlight as an actor, take the reins behind the scenes as a director, or manage props, lighting, and sound, there is a role for everyone. This club is a fantastic, fast-paced way to build confidence, collaborate with a tight-knit ensemble, and sharpen your dramatic skills. No prior theater experience is required—just bring your energy and creativity!

SADD is a student-led organization dedicated to empowering peers to make positive, healthy life choices. The club focuses on raising awareness about the dangers of destructive behaviors—such as underage drinking, drug use, impaired driving, and bullying—while promoting mental health wellness and traffic safety.
Members collaborate to plan engaging school-wide campaigns, host community events, and foster a supportive environment where students back each other up in making smart decisions. It’s a fantastic way to become a leader, make a tangible impact, and help keep our school community safe and thriving!

An environmental club open to students in grades 9 – 12. The purposes of the club are to increase environmental awareness, provide leadership training, and encourage environmental activism and community service.

Dedicated to improving the quality of science education in grades 5-12, increasing male, female and minority interest in science, creating a technologically literate workforce and providing recognition for outstanding achievement in science and technology.

Ski club goes skiing and snowboarding on Dry Hill. Membership is open to all students in grades 7 -12.

Student Council is the student governing body. It is composed of representatives from each class. Officers are elected "at large" in June of the previous school year. Student Council also sponsors student assemblies, pep rallies, and several dances throughout the school year.

VEX Robotics Competition (VRC) is a unique sport of the mind designed to help middle and high school students discover how interesting and rewarding the life of engineers and researchers can be.

Provides an individual and collective approach to the cultural, intellectual, and musical growth of each student in the area of musical performance.

The High School Quiz Team competes against other schools in televised matches at WPBS. Membership is open to all students in grades 9 - 12.
